The navy section went to Southport for their field day on 22nd April 08, they participated in Raft Building. Click here to see the pictures.
The CCF RN section offers a variety of courses and activities to its members; training on a Tuesday night consist of the basic instruction common to all three sections, such as first aid, weapon handling and map and compass, but also specialises in topics such as chart work, pilotage, and naval route planning. During the summer months there are also frequent trips to the Southport Lake and West Kirby marina for sailing and water sports, something which is open primarily to the members of the navy and also to all members of the CCF.
In addition to this, the Navy offers a large variety of courses each year, in everything from electrical engineering, to deep sea diving, to yacht racing. This wide variety of courses in unmatched by any of the other sections, and ensures that members of the CCF RN section get the most of out of their time in the cadets.
