RAF Woodvale

As an RAF cadet we have the advantage over other service cadets that we are not earth bound in any shape or form and every now and again we take off in both gliders and training aircraft such as the Tutor, Vigilant or Viking gliders. We also have the advantage to do everything that the other sections do and so unlike traditional ATC cadets the CCF can either sail with the Navy or fight in a section of eight with the Army or fly with the RAF whilst maintaining a cadet’s independence with their relevant section.
When joining the RAF section, a cadet will progress from a recruit upwards to a senior cadet over a number of years and if deemed responsible and commanding, a recruit could soon find themselves in charge of a number of cadets within the section.
The RAF normally attend two camps a year in Easter and during the Summer with the option of other camps or courses with the other sections.
